How Did You Get Started On The Road To Health & Wellness?
I’ve always been into health and fitness. I remember coming home from school at 9 years of age and telling my parents that I became a vegetarian and would no longer eat meat. You should have seen my face when I realized that meant no more McNugget Happy Meals.
What Mistakes Do You See People Making With Their Diets?
The all-or-nothing approach is the biggest mistake I see people making. It’s either “I’m on a diet” or “I’m stuffing my face.” People need to realize that eating clean can be easy, tasty, and part of their everyday lifestyle. Too often I see people eliminate carbs completely, then binge on carbs like it’s going out of style. It’s a good idea to develop healthy habits and not swing from one extreme to the other.
How Can We Adjust To Living In A Toxic Environment?
We are all exposed to toxins and it’s very difficult to isolate ourselves. The only thing we can do is adjust. That means reducing toxin exposure as much as possible, through choosing non-toxic cleaning products at home, eating natural whole foods, and cleansing the body 2-4 times per year. Stress also increases toxicity, so it’s important to practice stress management techniques and work on slowing down in this fast-paced world.

What Are Some Foods We Should Be focusing On To Detox & Cleanse?
I think a lot of people are scared of fats and still shop for low-fat food options, which are usually packed with sugar. I always encourage healthy fats in the diet such as avocados and nuts. I also recommend chia seeds over bran buds at breakfast, dark green leafy vegetables over head lettuce for salads, and wild fish over red meat at dinner.
What Are Some Go-To Meals & Snacks You Like To Turn To?
My go-to snacks are typically superfoods. I like to make mixes with nuts/seeds, goji berries, and cacao nibs. If I’m in a rush, I’ll grab a handful of almonds and an apple. I like to keep it simple. For meals, I’m a big stir-fry fan. It’s so easy to put tons of vegetables into my wok with some Bragg’s soy sauce. It tastes great, is really easy to prepare, and is packed with nutrients.
