Working on the core muscles is something that we all struggle with. Many of us harbor the idea that we need to use heavy equipment or go to the gym to strengthen our core.

That’s completely false. Because there are a lot of core strengthening exercises that you can do without any expert supervision or heavy equipment, among them, the ab draw leg slide exercise is rated highly among professionals and beginners alike. This article will break down everything you need to know to execute the ab draw leg slide without any hindrance flawlessly.

How to Do Ab Draw Leg Slide: A Step-by-Step Guide

While the no equipment and supervision rule seems easy, doing any freehand workouts without understanding them correctly might lead to unexpected injuries. That’s why you should always understand the concept of the exercise before giving it a try.

To do a perfect ab draw leg slide, you will need to follow the following steps:

Step – 1: Create the Workout Area

While this might sound strange to a few, working out or exercising in a random area of your room isn’t the best idea. The reason behind this is the space and the type of workout. You will need to lie down completely straight for the ab draw leg slide.

Therefore, picking a workout space that can easily contain your whole body while lying down is needed.

Also, it is recommended that you use a workout mat or towel or any clothing when you do this exercise. That being said, if you are comfortable on the bare floor, then you can avoid adding any clothes or mats underneath your body.

Step – 2: Lie Down Straight

First, lie down on the ground or the workout mat to begin the exercise. Make sure that you are lying on your back while your knees are bent at a 90-degree angle. Also, ensure that your hands are on your sides and your palms are upward.

Step – 3: Raising the Legs

Once you are settled lying down, create slight pressure in your arms and then slowly start raising and extending your legs forward until you feel a squeeze and stretch in your abdominal muscles.

Step – 4: Return to Base Position

Afterward, slowly retrace your steps and return to the starting or the base position of the exercise.

And there you have it. This is how you do a perfect ab-draw leg slider.

The benefits of this exercise are:

  • Simple to do
  • Don’t require any equipment
  • Can be done in a small area
