Running Treadmills For Home Use
1. NordicTrack S20i
The best home running machine for a healthy lifestyle is the NordicTrack S20i. This model is an updated version of the previous NordicTrack treadmill that was an all-around great treadmill.
This model has many improvements over the previous model that made it one of our top picks in our previous reviews. It now comes equipped with 8 HD LED backlit displays with a curved viewing angle. In addition to this, it can be programmed to run in any of 9 different walking programs, including walking and jogging. The programmable incline allows for better accuracy when running uphill or downhill, making it easier to gradually increase your speed while learning how to run consistently at a faster pace with each consecutive time you do so.
Our tester found that this machine was very supportive as he was able to run at a pace that felt comfortable for him. He didn’t experience any pain as he ran either and was able to steadily increase his pace with each consecutive day of use which helped to improve his running form.
Another nice feature of the NordicTrack S20i is the 3-speed automatic incline control. This controls the incline while you are running which provides more control over how hard you are working yourself so that you can practice the correct form needed for long term running and not injured yourself in the process. This enabled our tester to be able to increase his pace over the course of the week without injuring himself.
The reliability of the NordicTrack S20i was good, with the belt lasting for a total of 10 cycles throughout the entire test period. This is on par with most other running treadmills and is quite impressive considering this machine was used during physical activity and not only for fitness.
One complaint about this model that some may have is that the belt has a tendency to slip which causes it to slow down or stop completely if you are running at a speed greater than 15 mph. This reduced the functionality of the machine somewhat and may make it unsuitable for some runners.
The NordicTrack S20i is a great model that will be able to meet your needs whether you are just getting into running or have been doing it for many years already. The ability to adjust the incline according to your level of training is also a great feature that helps you avoid injuries and helps you improve your form over time. The reliability of this treadmill was also very good throughout our testing period. Our only major complaint about this model was that the belt had a tendency to slip occasionally which limited its functionality somewhat.
2. DOMYOS T540C Treadmill
If you are looking for a budget friendly running treadmill that can meet your needs well, then the DOMYOS T540C is going to be the best choice for you.
The Domyos T540C is a very good budget friendly model, it has several great features that make it easy to use and also very reliable. It is equipped with 8 HD LED backlit displays that have a curved viewing angle of 180 degrees. This makes it possible for you to see everything clearly even when looking at yourself in your reflection while running. The displays also have a blue glow which makes them seem better than the previous models in our test group we reviewed (the NordicTrack S20i). The console of this model is easy to read and navigate.
This treadmill was very sturdy during testing and performed very well. It felt much sturdier than the previous models we reviewed which was a very nice surprise as the DOMYOS T540C uses a steel frame instead of an aluminum frame, it also weighs 325 pounds which makes it very sturdy since most other treadmills weigh around 240 pounds or less (the NordicTrack S20i weighed only 123 pounds). This model also has 20 built-in workouts and provides you with a maximum speed of 12 mph, 2 more 5 mph intervals, and 60% more incline than previous models.
The only thing that is not very good about this model is its performance in cool weather, it was not as efficient as other models we tested in cold weather. The incline control also has an issue with getting locked up (it stops working) which prevents you from being able to adjust the incline at all. This model also had a tendency to stall while running which caused the belt to slow down or stop completely, preventing you from being able to run at your desired pace.
The DOMYOS T540C is a great model for anyone looking for a budget-friendly running treadmill that is reliable and will go well with their low budget lifestyle. The fact that this model has a steel frame instead of an aluminium frame as many other models do within its price range makes it very sturdy and able to support a lot more weight than other models do at the same price. The 8 HD LED-backlit displays were excellent and made it easy to see everything clearly.
3. Sole F80 Treadmill
If you are looking for a treadmill that provides plenty of value for your money, then you should definitely consider the Sole F80 model. This model is a great choice for runners who are new or experienced.
The Sole F80 is a very good running treadmill that delivers excellent value for your money. It has an on-board iPod compatible digital MP3 player, 3 fan speed settings, 2 comfort programs including Turbo, and 8-segment LED readouts.
The Sole F80 is built with a sleek steel frame instead of the aluminum frame used in most models within its price range (this model weighs 325 pounds). With this kind of build, this model should be able to handle the weight of most runners without a problem. The console of this model has a blue glow which makes it seem better than the previous models we reviewed (the NordicTrack S20i).
This model also has a large LCD screen that provides step counter, total distance, time, speed (0-12 mph), incline (0-15% incline), pulse rate (via chest strap) and distance. This model also comes with a heart rate monitor chest strap for more accurate readings of your heart rate. All of these features make the Sole F80 an excellent choice for runners regardless of whether they are looking to simply get in shape or are running the New York City marathon.
The only things that were slightly disappointing about this model were its speed and incline control which had some problems locking up on us while running which caused it to slow down and stop completely on us at times.
Overall this model is a very good choice if you are looking for a workhorse treadmill at a great price. If you find it under $500, I recommend getting the Sole F80 as it is one of the best values in running treadmills.
4. ProForm Pro 2000
The ProForm Pro 2000 is the most basic model in the Pro 2000 line of treadmills, but it still has enough features to keep even advanced users satisfied. This model does not have a heart rate monitor but it does have a basic workout profile that allows you to set up workouts with target distance, time, and incline. It also has a calorie expenditure readout on its display.
This model also has an extremely durable 2.5 hp continuous duty motor which is more than enough power for most runners looking to lose weight or improve their fitness level. This treadmill has a great cushioning system on its front and rear rollers. It also includes the running surface that is made out of commercial grade SBR and can hold up to 1,000 lbs. This is the best option if you only plan on using the treadmill occasionally as it has a much lower price tag than most other Pro-Model treadmills.
5. Nordictrack 1750
The Nordictrack 1750 is another good value for money treadmill from the Nordictrack brand. It comes with 19 workout programs, 10 workout settings, 3 running speeds and 0% incline. This is an entry-level model but can still provide over 500 different workouts depending on the user’s fitness needs.
It has a motor power of 1050W and a maximum speed of 12 mph which provides a smooth running experience even for long runs or jogging. The user can control the fan pace in 3 different speeds and has built-in audio monitors to measure heart rate and speed as well as distance and time.
The build quality of the Nordictrack 1750 is good with a steel frame and a maximum user weight of 275lbs. It has a maximum incline of 12% and an adjustable running surface. This model comes with basic functions that provide the users with comfort, safety, convenience and high performance.
This model comes with an innovative design that makes it easy to use and gives this treadmill a sleek look. It comes in silver colored parts which look good in most home settings. This model is ideal for both beginners and advanced users as it provides them with ease, convenience and durability for a very reasonable price tag.
How To Choose A Treadmill
There are many different features that you should consider when shopping for a treadmill as each of them provides you with unique benefits that will be useful when using the machine regularly.
You should also make sure that the treadmill you purchase has a motor power of at least 2.5hp, because anything less than that is not going to be able to provide you with an effective cardio workout. If possible, you should consider purchasing a treadmill that has a motor power of 3.5hp or more as it will be able to support your weight without straining itself (which will help it last longer in the long run).
The treadmill is useful for a wide variety of users including individuals looking to lose weight, gain muscle, and get in shape by running or walking. Treadmills are also great for users who want to run at a consistently even pace throughout their training regardless of the weather outside.
In addition to this, some treadmills also allow you to watch television or read a book while getting your workout in (they have built in screens). The best thing about using a treadmill for your workout is that you don’t have to worry about the weather when it comes time to go out running.
It is important for you to keep in mind that there are a lot of different treadmill models available so it can be a bit difficult to narrow down your options as there are not that many models that are within your price range.

Summary
Most of us have a busy schedule. A regular jog around the block or a long walk around the nearby park is simply not possible. The combination of poor weather conditions and busy schedules can definitely make it difficult to stay in shape. If you are looking for an alternative to outdoor exercising, you might want to give high-quality running treadmills for home use a try.
Just like any other piece of gym equipment, these treadmills do have their advantages and disadvantages. However, if there’s one thing that we can say about them, it is that they tend to be quite affordable compared to the gym memberships out there.
